Japanese maple deshojo seeds have finally begun to sprout.
I've been checking in on my stratified seeds on a weekly basis. Last week I noticed some of them started to sprout, so I planted planted those as well. I didn't plant all of them. I figured I'd hedge my bets and plant a few a little later in the season.
Some of the trident maples have begun to show their first leaves. Not true leaves, just their little seed leaves.
The crab apples continue to grow. My mom found some one gallon nursery pots which I used to plant them up.I decided against planting any straight into the ground; I don't know how long we'll be at this location and I don't want to dig them up in midsummer. I moved them to a more sunny location in the yard. Hopefully the deer won't eat them.
I might grow some pumpkins this year, still thinking about it. Still early in the season and for now time is still on my side.
All for now.
