So just before Bedtime the other day, Bernie is getting a real kick out of her cell phone.
Bernie:Look! my cell phone's battery is low, at it's tweeting at me
phone: TWEET TWEET
Bernie: Tweet tweet! ^_^ How cute!
me: you should really charge your phone
Bernie: no, I like it! TWEET TWEET!
So later, she wakes me at 4am the :
Bernie: Victor! VICTOR!!!
Me: Wha...what is it?
Bernie: There's someone in the house...
me: Of course there is, the house is FULL of monkeys
Bernie: No, someone broke into the house
me: really?... hrmmm..... well how do you know?
Bernie: because I hear them in the bathroom!
me: you what? Well, I don't see anyone in our bathroom....
Bernie: No, the front bathroom! They're ringing the bell (small ceramic bell).
me: I'm no butler!
Bernie: Go check!
me: ............
me: it's your phone...
Bernie: but I hear shuffling in the hall
me: of course you do, the house is FULL of monkeys!
Bernie: Go look in the bathroom
me: Give me your phone
Bernie: If you're gonna call 911, the house phone is right behind you!
me: Give me YOUR cell phone, please.
Bernie: (reaching for her cell phone) Why don't you just go check....
Cell phone: TWEET TWEET!
me: it's the turd burglar... he's ringing you for some toilet paper. Charge your phone!
What can I say, I was tired.
First Friday was this weekend.
I sold ONE birdhouse. Woo Hoo!
Sales were dismal. What can I say, no love for me. HEHE :) . I know, I know, times are tough everywhere. I might be upset if this was my bread and butter. Luckily that is not the case. I still have the luxury of having my pottery as a self-sustaining hobby.
There was a lot of interest, but I think the sales were lacking because:
1. I don't have my merchandise priced and labeled
2. I don't have enough signage
3. I don't have my business card displayed
My etsy shop hasn't had a lot of activity lately. I think etsy activity is directly tied to new offerings. I have a number of new items on the horizon, I just need to finish them up. I made a couple new dragon frog like sculptures, a couple of skull pots, a bunch of small baubles such as octopi, dragon slugs, clay amigurumi, and a few skull beads that sort of look a lot like jack skellingtons. They're based on Dia De Los Muertos skulls, but as of right now they're looking rather jack-ish.
It doesn't help that I haven't gotten myself over to the studio to finish up all these projects. It's been a busy week, but I really need to do that.
The Ren Fair is in town; we went this weekend. It's hardly worth mentioning, as the only thing I did there was buy a hat and eat a turkey leg. We mostly went from one show to the next. Seems we couldn't walk more than 20 minutes without having to stop for a feeding, but that happens with a baby. Even with 6+ hours to do the Ren Fair, we did not get a chance to see all of it.
