I just got back from Mishy's. I was dropping off and picking up. I dropped off all the dragon pieces I worked on last week. Out of the seven glazed pieces, six survived. I lost a giant 'Mog', done in agate. It looked good. And by 'looked good' I mean good and broken!
There was about a dozen bisque-fired pots and another dozen or so 'misc' pieces. There's some shells here, some rollers there.
My girls are at Grandma's house in San Diego . I sent them off last week for a couple weeks. I thought it was important that they spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa. There's never enough time to do things that Grandma wants to do when we visit San Diego . So much to do, so little time to do it. Now Grandma has the time to do things with the girls. It's the little things that are important. Sure, they're spending a lot of time in the swimming pool. And yeah, they're spending lots of time visiting their Great-Aunt and Great-Uncle and the rest of their extended family in San Diego . But more importantly, they're doing all sorts of little things with their Grandma. My cousin, Estela, and my uncle, Cacho, both think that Chelsea is the spitting image of me. At twelve years old, Chelsea is already taller than most of her extended family. At least the family on my side.
We're planning on going out to San Diego for the July 11 weekend. We're going out to pick up the girls and spend some time with Grandma. I want to take the boys to Lego Land , or some place special. The way I figure, the girls got to spend 2 weeks with Grandma, it's only fair that the boys get to do something fun as well.
I made some more pieces featuring the dragon impression that Mishy let me borrow. I made some pots using my emu egg as a mold and impressing the outside with the dragon. Those look interesting, I can't wait to see them once they're finished.
What else do I have? Oh, it's HOT! Hotter than hot, hot! I'm off for the next three day. I'd take off to Mexico, or Hawaii, or some other land of ice cold beers and tasty seafood, but I'm broke! Oh well, I'll just lay low and work on my pottery, mess with my bonsai and what-not.
