Weekend Update 07/21/19

If I haven't mentioned it before, Aaron is a scrounger. He was able to locate a special pallet from work. This is a pallet that was being used for the garden center. They were tossing this pallet so he brought it home.

Yes, this is considered a pallet! It's a four shelf pallet. With some modification, a fifth shelf could be installed. It fits my needs to a tee. It's long enough to take up the corner, yet short enough not to impede on the other furniture. I loaded my fishbowl for future placement reference. Because I only plan to use it off season, Bernadette is using it for storage of other items, such as Aaron's gourds. I ordered the LED strip grow lights and I will be wiring up the pallet for growing my tropicals.

I'm including a picture that shows the current F. religiosa seeds set up. They are sitting on a cat perch by the window with a Jerry Morse grow light (picked up last January from Walmart when they had them on clearance for $5). I will be installing the grow light on the top shelf of the growing pallet later.

The next two pictures are close ups of the F. religiosa. They have their first true leaves. Will begin fertilizing very soon.

Next picture is a group shot of the schefflera arbicolas. They're outside for the summer and receiving heavy watering and fertilizer. I'm using full strength Miracle Grow once a week. This is what I'm using for everything, actually.

Next up is the crab apple cuttings. These are cuttings that I took two years ago and lay dormant and forgotten. They're forgotten no more.

Next picture is a group picture of my projects. The two on the left are the neagari azaleas, potted up in kitty litter. To the right is the dwarf rhodie, lots of obvious growth. To the right of the dwarf rhodie is an apple seedling, Japanese maples. If interested, the odd pot on the top shelf is one I made myself five years ago.

Next picture is a close up of one of the neagari azaleas. The dandelions are in full bloom, I like so I'm leaving it. Don't judge me.

Next picture is a close up of my dwarf rhodie. Notice detail of new growth.

I did not take pictures of my other projects. Everything else in the garden is unremarkable.

I continue to make pottery! Saturday I dropped off my first batch of pottery at Seattle Pottery Supply. They do not do cone 10 there, so I bought new clay to fire to cone 04-06. I found time today to make some new pottery.

That's all I have for now.
