Being that I don't have much to talk about in regards to my growing, I thought I'd share some ideas.
Propagation of cuttings
I obtained some trident maples and a fantastic looking zelkova for Pacific Northwest Bonsai earlier in the year. I'd would love to have a few more of these trees. I don't have a lot of money, so I figure I'd try my hand at growing my own.

That link right there explains in detail what my own research has found: growing zelkovas from cuttings can be very successful with rooting hormones. Hardwood cuttings can also be obtained. Early sprig time is best. My zelkova can stand a bit of trimming, so what I'll do in the spring is try propagating hardwood cuttings. I was researching propating trident maples and the general consensus is that cutting take very well.
So that's what I'll be trying in the spring. All for now
