I was thinking of doing an instructional on how to create a bonsai from a ficus cutting:
Step 1: Take a cutting from tree
Step 2: Allow to grow out a bit
Step 3: wire the SHIT out of it
*repeat steps 2 and 3 until your bonsai is where you want it to be.
At the root (pun not intentional) of the issue is wiring. Wire early, wire often.
The purpose of this instructional would be a technical how-to on when and how to wire a ficus cutting to create a small (mame to shohin) bonsai.
Intended audience would have fundamental working knowledge of bonsai, including basic care. Topics such as aesthetics, root pruning, soil structure would be covered on other topics.
